[22.6.2023] OpenTouch server is available again

As the last component of the telephone system, the OpenTouch server is now available again after the cyber attack on the University of Duisburg-Essen. OpenTouch Conversation is the CTI (Computer Telephony Integration) solution from Alcatel. This tool enables simple operation of the office telephone via the computer. The own telephone number can be diverted to another telephone and calls can be initiated.

In order to use OpenTouch again, the configuration of the OpenTouch client must be changed in two points:

  1. the server setting for „internal“ is now.
„otms-intern.tk.uni-due.de“ (externally still „otms.tk.uni-due.de“, both must be specified). You can change the addresses under „Show remote access“.

2: From now on, the user name and password (to be entered for internal/external) are the university ID and the corresponding password.

ZIM recommends reinstalling the software, as not all versions update automatically. The software is provided centrally for administrative staff. All other employees can find it at the following link: https://www.uni-due.de/zim/tk-services/opentouch.php

Under the link you will also find installation and configuration instructions as well as information on how to reapply for the service. All previous users have already been re-registered.
